« It seems [...] there is always some important thing over looked and when i had your regret that your name was not linked with her word’s in the book. I felt as if we had indeed committed a gracious sin of omision. I have not yet see the book over i did not appreciate that we had failed to give you the place in ot which should be yours. Of course you know that this was not international. I am very sorry for it. I had to be in Boston at the time the Sculpture Society had it’s meeting in honor of Mrs Ward when the book was distributed to the members, and i suppose mine was left for us. I have not yet received it. I will send the photographe to you tomorrow. The best commission will have a meeting late in this month and i will [...] to find out what it is best to do about the Whashigton. Very sincerely yours. Daniel C. French. »
